Discus Awards Scholarships
The Discus Awards Scholarship program is different than traditional awards programs which focus on test scores, and grades. The Discus Awards recognize uncommon students whose character and passions are anything but average. High school students (grades 9-12) may nominate themselves or their friends, free at discusawards.com. Nominees pick three attributes, write a short blurb for each one, and provide a reference. Every month a judging panel of education professionals will review the nominations and name the winners.
Students can post their Discus Awards to favorite social media sites, and include them in their college applications. The Discus Awards unconventional focus helps to give college admissions officers a complete, multi-faceted view of potential students. Each school year, the Discus Awards identify a select group of winners who represent the best of the best for a Discus Awards Scholarship.
